I began working in Haiti over 19 years ago with the goal of fighting poverty through art. All over that time, we have worked with as many as 120 artists, cultivating business relationships, and building friendships. We have learned the good that comes from Fair Trade. The Haitian metal dolphins wall hanging art is completely hand cut from a flattened 55 gallon steel oil drum with all of the details for the piece expertly worked, with hammer and chisel, into a beautiful piece of collector quality Haitian steel drum art. How your art was made.

Each beautiful recycled metal sculpture is made my hand. Starting with a cast-off 55 gallon steel drum, the metal is cleaned, sanded, and pounded flat.

Haitian artist.

The artist chalks his design onto the metal. Then he begins the heavy, tedious work of cutting out the pattern with a hammer and chisel, which will give the piece detail and dimension. After all, the artist applies a clear coat to the piece, which protects it and makes it perfectly suited for indoor and outdoor display.
